Andrew Michelmore - Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director
Andrew commenced with Zinifex as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer on 1 February 2008, upon his return from two years working in London and Russia as Chief Executive Officer of EN+ Group. Andrew has more than 27 years experience in the metals and mining industry. He spent 12 years at WMC where he was CEO and prior to that, held senior roles in the company's nickel, gold, alumina, coppers, uranium, and fertilizer businesses.
Andrew is Chairman of the Jean Hailes Foundation for Women's Health and Chairman of the Council of Ormond College at The University of Melbourne. He is also a member of the Board and Executive Committee of the International Zinc Association (to be officiated in October 2008), Council Member of the International Council of Mining & Metals, and member of the Business Council of Australia.


Brett Fletcher - Chief Operating Officer - Australia
Area of responsbility: Australia operations including Golden Grove, Prominent Hill (when commissioned), Rosebery, Century and Marketing.

Background: Brett commenced his career in the mining industry in 1989 at Broken Hill, New South Wales where as a qualified mining engineer he held various technical and management roles. For the last seven years Brett has held general manager positions at Rosebery Mine, Century Mine and Hobart Smelter. Brett was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Zinifex in April 2007.


Peter Albert - Executive General Manager - Asia
Area of responsibility: Off-shore operations, Sepon copper and gold operations, Martabe and Asian government relations.

Background: Peter is a metallurgist with some 25 years experience in project management, general management and operations management in mining and minerals processing in Australia, Africa and Asia. He joined Oxiana in 2000 from Fluor Daniel where he held the position of General Manager - Projects. Prior to this Peter worked with Billiton (Australia), Davy John Brown and JCI (South Africa).


Tony Manini - Executive General Manager - Exploration
Area of responsibility: Brownfield and Greenfield exploration globally.

Background: Tony is a geologist with over 22 years mineral exploration and evaluation experience across a broad range of commodities in Asian and Australia. Prior to joining Oxiana in 2001 he held a variety of technical, commercial and management positions with the Rio Tinto group. Tony is currently responsible for the strategic direction and management of Oxiana's global exploration portfolio and resource inventory.


John Nitschke - Executive General Manager - Projects & Technical Services
Area of responsibility: All major development projects, feasibility studies and technical services.

Background: John is a mining engineer with over 30 years experience in the resources industry. His experience also includes operations and project management of both surface and underground mines for MIM Holding, optimisation of several projects for Normandy Mines and provision high level technical and management support to operations and studies in Australia, and overseas for various mining companies.


Peter Lester - Executive General Manager - Business Development
Area of responsibility: Strategy, business development and mergers and acquisitions.

Background: Peter is a mining engineer with extensive experience in senior operating, development and corporate roles with Newcrest, North, CRA and MIM. His activities have covered Australia, Asia and the Americas, and include a period in financial services roles. Peter is a Non-Executive Director of Toro Energy Limited.


Bruce Loveday - Executive General Manager - Business Support
Area of responsibility: Safety, Health and Environment, Information Technology, Internal Communications and External Relations, Procurement and Risk.

Background: Bruce commenced at Oxiana in March 2007 as General Manager - External Relations, responsible for Investor Relations, Government Relations, Media, Public Affairs and Strategic Communications. Previously, he carried out a similar role at Smorgon Steel, where he also was a member of Smorgon Steel's Group Executive and chaired committees with responsibility for Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility and Branding. Bruce's earlier experience includes over 25 years in the financial markets, covering funds management, institutional stock broking, asset consulting and corporate banking. He was also Course Leader and Lecturer in Economics in the Bachelor of Business (Banking & Finance) program at Chisholm Institute of Technology (now part of Monash University).


Francesca Lee - Company Secretary and General Counsel
Area of responsibility: Company Secretary, General Counsel, Legal Department.

Background: Francesca was a Group Counsel at BHP Billiton and has also held a number of senior positions at Rio Tinto Limited including General Manager Internal Audit and Corporate Counsel, and was Vice President of Structured Finance at Citibank Limited. Francesca is Board member of the Metropolitan Waste Management Group, a Victorian statutory authority. Francesca was appointed to the position of General Counsel and Company Secretary of Zinifex in March 2004.


Jill Lever - Executive General Manager, Human Resources
Area of Responsibility: Human Resources including organisation development and culture, remuneration and policy, learning and development, talent and succession.

Background: Jill joined Zinifex in September 2007 as General Manager, Human Resources with nearly thirty years HR experience and senior roles in Europe, Asia, South America, the Middle East and Australia. She had a long career with Shell in a variety of generalist and specialist roles, latterly as Regional Manager of Shell People Services in Melbourne, before joining the ANZ HR leadership group as Head of HR for Esanda Finance.
Jill has experience in setting HR strategy at a site, country and regional level and a global perspective to all areas of HR, including organisational and cultural change, to deliver business performance.


Jeff Sells - Acting Chief Financial Officer
Background: Jeff has 20 years experience in financial management and was previously CFO of Oxiana Limited. He spent 10 years at Ashton Mining Ltd in senior financial positions and was Group Treasurer of Sigma Company Limited. He has experience with mining operations in Australia, Africa and South East Asia, and a background in general management, accounting, tax, treasury and corporate finance. He is a Chartered Accountant, member of the Finance and Treasury Association and is currently a non-executive Director of Toro Energy Limited.
